Seafoam to the rescue

I need some advice on how much to use....all I know is too much is no good! This should help a little in regaining lost power from an old engine, right?!

Well use half the can through brake booster, other half in the oil (about 50 miles before oil change) and a full can in the fuel system. Seafoam helped clear up my idle and I am going to run it again in a month or so.

I was looking for info on seafoam and found this thread:

http://www.f-bodyhideout.com/ubbthre...0&Number=54599

LOL

Where do you pour that stuff in to clean your TB?

Brake booster? Where is that, I just got this car and haven't tried to change the oil yet.

Well it said to on their website, just wondering?

http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm

Are we talking brake fluid resevoir, window washer fluid, muffler bearings?

Throw me a bone. I'm not mechanically inept, just lazy.

No. It's give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.

The brake resevior. That'd be real good. Here. Follow the rubber line from the big black thing behind the resevior. It will go through a hard section and then back to rubber. Disconnect it from the intake manifold and put it in there. Realistically though this isn't a sovling method to cleaning the manifold. The best way to clean it is to remove the manifold and go at it with a tooth brush and extremely good cleaning solution.

Actually, that would fall into giving you a fish. You can use the brake booster hose if you wish. That is one big hose. Don't say no one warned you

Thanks Broaner. Dunno if you could tell by the muffler bearings suggestion but I was just kidding about the resevoir.

Is brake booster = master cylinder? I've changed the fluids on all vehicles prior to this one, now I just commute alot and let someone else do it.

jeffy, take that fish and.... you know what to do with it.

Jesus, there's like 30 threads about seafoam in the lubricants section, the correct forum to ask this question.

I had no idea that FORUM existed. I spent an hour searching 4th gen FAQ's for a section.

For anyone wondering the same thing as me.

Are there any illustrations on these cans of where the hell you suppose to put the stuff in cause I dont know parts names you are talking about, or where they are located. I dont have the manual. If someone can post some pics of where you pour the cans in that would be cool.

Used Sea Foam multiple times and haven't had a problem with the O2s. Don't really care since I'm at 114k miles and I'm about to order new ones
