I got to school tonight around 7pm, I parallel park, then look at my guages as I am about to shut the car down, and I see the Battery Idiot light is on. So, I shut down the engine, then restarted it, to make sure I had enough juice to restart after i did my studying, but when I got back I noticed the light was still on, but none of the guages were functioning, no water temp, no speedo, no tachometer, and the gas was stuck at its previous reading, I did not notice if the odometer was working, but i assume it was/n't: I am not sure.

I will have to check to see if there is a fuse for just the cluster, because the backlighting still worked fine, I assume that is on a separate circuit.

Any ideas?

Yeah, the car is running fine, I just can only shift by ear. And... I cant tell how much gas I got left now....

Sorry to jump the post, but I my cluster problem is the trip odometer/odometer. THey just randomly work and its really annoying when Im trying to calculate my miles/gallon ratio. Any Ideas, or advice on fixing.

have the same prob but little different with my speedometer, it radomly drops to the bottom and marks 0 mile/hr and it start working fine after a while. eraticaly malfuctions. was wondering if it was electronic or does it have a speedometer cable runing to the trany? if it does have cable where on transmision is it located? thanx and sorry to jump thread no search....

 

i'm in the same boat with my 93 GXE, most instruments guages don't work, o/d (auto) doesn't work, car won't shift out of park, charge warning light on, car ran great up until sunday oct 24, have to use the shift release button to drive, taking to a dealer on friday
