Anybody added a heated steering wheel?

Obviously I'd need the wheel and a switch, but what else? Is the spiral cable behind the wheel the same?

looking for someone whose done it or looked enough in it to know.

Yup, there's a switch behind the wheel and to the left to turn it on. Stays on for 10-15 minutes I think?

Even A6s and A8s need to turn on the HEATED seat switch to ON to get heat on the steering wheel. Most of the 98-99s with that feature- don't work. I'm a ex-Audi tech, you work for Tim at Continental Audi in Naperville ?

I have a heated steering wheel with cloth heated seats Really nice in the winter. The wheel heats up really fast. After about 3 minutes i have to turn it off, as it gets too warm...nice feature. Even new G35 don' t have it.

well. i tried doing this but the problem is that there were different wiring harness. Usually if u dont have the heated steering wheel then u dont have the proper harness. and would have to install all the wiring going to the fuses and relays and such. Not as easy as heated seats or side mirrors.

Fezzik - Were you able to make it work in the end?

HAHA. good to know someone know's what my name means. I got the name because some guy back in my dorm slapped me across the back of the head (jokingly) but i chased after him and caught him at the stairs. He was attempting to jump down the stairs but i caught his shirt and lifted him back up and carried him lifted to my dorm room where I in turn returned his favot to me. People were perplexed that i lifted a guy all the way to my room by his shirt.

Ok to the steering wheel. i'm not one to lightly give up on things, but from talkin with dave burnette, it just was not worth trying to install this. The wiring would be a huge pain in the butt.

Heated cloth seats? I didn't think that was available, or did you add this yourself?

No, this is factory. I have 2002 SE 6 speed with Bose/sunroof/heated cloth and wheel. I did not want leather, as it is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter....took me a while to find this one. Had to go to Pittsburgh to pick it up.

Thanks for the info. I feel the same as you about leather. I wish mine were heated. I didn't know that heated cloth was even a possibility!
