Cheapo XM radio install ideas

I just purchased a Delphi Roady2 XM radio kit to hold me over until I get a XM compatible headunit. Looking for some ideas/input on install ideas. Right now, I have it sitting between the armrest and shifter. Anybody install one of these things in there car? Pics of an install on this particular unit or any portable XM unit in the car would be greatly appreciated. I will also be posting this in the audio section, but am looking for responses from 5th genners. Thanks in advance.

I have it to the right of my Bose unit using the car kit and 3M tape. The only problem it get bad glare problems middle of the day and late afternoon. Other than that works great.

I tried doing it that way, but for some reason, the 3M tape does not seem to stick to my dash. I prepped it with the cleaning pad and stuff but it still will not go. I think it's probably because I used Armor-All on it before. Oh well...

i have the roady, and use the crappiest set up possible, the unit is in the ashtray compartment turned on an angle to face me, and i use the cassette adapter so i have a wire flying around, and then the plug in the cigarette lighter, but that wire is bound up, the antenna is on my trunk lid and the wires go under the mats and driver's seat and up into the reciever so that isnt too bad.

Mine is almost as bad, I have it stuck between the shifter and armrest with the cig adapter and the antenna wire running under the floormats to the trunk. I tucked the wire to the cassette adapter between the plastic dash and carpeted floor part. I was gonna just use the built FM transmitter set-up, but the cassette adapter sounds so much better.

yea it does sound better, i got the wireless fm transmitter for free, but its terrible quality. you get too much noise and static. the best is aux input, then cassette adapter, than hard wired fm modulator, then the wireless

This is a little off topic, but this is the one of the closest threads I could find (can't post new threads yet, new user). What I'm trying to do is connect Sirius radio with wired FM modulator. I had this setup in honda that I sold. The antenna plug in the back of the stereo was the standard one, just like on the fm modulator that came with sirius radio. I took apart my 2001 Maxima stereo and found that the Antenna adapter is two prong (is it just antenna, or power too? stereo turns off when I pull the plug out). I found other threads that discuss adapters, but in my case, I need to plug the two prong into the FM modulator (which is regular one prong hole), and then the FM Modulator, also single prong, back into the back of the bose. Is there an adapter, do I need to adapters? Or, better yet, which one of the three stock cables that go into the two prong adapter actually carry the antenna signal? Can I just put a wiretap on that wire and connect the FM modulater to the tap, without any kind of plugs/prongs?

Sorry for the long post, I did not find anyone with the same problem, which is surprising, as a lot of people here have sattelite radios and seem to use the fm modulator.

Thank you.
