Part behind rotor, scraping rotor

There is like a protective piece of metal directly behind the rotor...i hit a pothole and it bent into the rotor....now its like a loud screeching unless i get down and push that part away from the rotor, but a few little bumps and time, and it comes right back....what should i do? just replace the rotors altogether, is this expensive? if not im gonna jack up the car and try to bend it back really far.....

The shield is made out of sheet metal, you can just bend it back into shape. I'd suggest taking the wheel off and bending the metal with a pair of pliars or similar tool. Bending it by hand you may not be able to exert enough force to bend it completely back into shape.

yea my max fell of the jack stands, and landed on the jack, it kept the car off the groud and off my leg, but that was the only thing that got messed up. It bent that plate all up. since my wheels was already off i just bent it out of the way.

my front one is loose for some reason, after i changed out my struts and springs, it is loose *** hell now and makes sounds sometimes when i drive.
