Eibach Springs..Your opinion
Eibach Springs..Your opinion
I was made an offer today for Eibach Springs (2 inch drop front, 1.5 back) for $50....The guy had them on the car for almost 2 years. Is it a good deal? I know its a stupid Q but just wonder what u guys might think..
Sounds like a good price. You know not to put them on stock struts right?
Eibachs are supposed to be the best performing spring but they are also pretty stiff. Pretty small drop too (not that that's a bad thing). It really depends what you're after.

I have them....very rough ride....but I have them bundled with gr2's and low pro tires (and original ball joints/bushings)....which are somewhat to blame....handling is a lot more stiff/taut then the other setups I have riden in....with the performance to match...I say if you want all out performance, get the eibachs, if you want a mix of performance/ride, get H&R's or the teins....
if you get the eibachs, don't go cheap and get GR2's like I did...you will regret it laster on as they age...get illuminas or something (better quality, adjustable, will last longer, and will make the ride a lot more comfortable with no decrease in handling...in fact prolly and increase in handling)...

eibachs are harshhhhh, i had them in my celica and if i went to eat i would feel the food jumping in my stomach on any road inperfection, i also had the pair with gr2s but at 150 each for konis i had no other choice, but for 50 bucks u cant go wrong u can put them on ebay later and get more than that...

All you need is a few hours, some good tools, and a spring compressor from a local auto shop (should be able to rent it for just a deposit). Get new struts like illuminas or AGXs. Also get bump stops/dust boots and strut bushings.
I really like my Eibachs. Just what I wanted a stiff ride without being too low.

See my sig I have 18's with Eibachs on stock SE struts, I've had the struts and springs for over a year and I really like them, just waiting to install my Illumina's, adjustable struts are the way to go, good luck. I have no complaints witht he eibachs
I switched from Progress to Eibach. They haven't rusted like the progress have, but they didn't have as much of a drop as the progress (the front of my car is very high). They also ride more stiff than the progress. I am selling them in the spring to get a set of Ground Controls. Also a few years back Eibach came out with a new model for the 4th gen which was supposed to have an even lower drop and higher spring rates.
Hi Simon,
When you get around installing them, let me know. I already did it once myself. And yes, guys are totally right, save some money and get some struts (GR-2s may do). You'll save yourself on work and 60 bucks on extra allignment.
