Damn, did you just do these recently or some while ago. I imagine it's cold as hell and I'm surprised the paint even adhered to the wheels. I have a few things to paint but I don't want to waste time if the paint doesn't stick.

Its real carbon fiber! Actually I never noticed my bumpers were different colors until I saw pics of it. I guess the previous owner had no clue on paint matching. Its alright though, I wont be having this car for much longer.

Yup good old aircraft stripper, it was a pain to get into every crevice but it paid off.

Holy crap Dave! I never knew you had them... I would've asked you for some tips if I did... it was a pain to clean them off and get into every blade on the wheels. I did them last week... it wasnt terribly cold but it was only like 50 degrees outside at the most. I painted them outside and brought them inside my basement to let them dry for a few hours. The paint stuck incredibly well... how I dont know... I went to the car wash this past sunday and I was scared with the chemicals they use they would peel but they held up just fine...

I did about 3 coats and 2 of clear coat. I just taped off the tires...

After I did the aircraft paint remover, I wet sanded them down and cleaned them off to get them as smooth as possible..

If I could do it again, I'd take the tires off and it would be a whole lot easier to do and work with.

I am not a big fan of these. Looks like a dirty rim, but to each his own. I would like 5th gen SE wheels and chrome them out... that's my flavor, you go with yours.

I think the gunmetal sawblades would look better if you had some lower profile tires .. not sure how the 15s run but maybe a 225/50/15? other wise not 2 shabby cheap way for a different look.

I think 225's are too wide for our rims.. thats stock tire size I have on it...

Day pics would be nice with sun... I'd have to find a camera though, I dont have one.

2 Da Max... I'm tired of this car and all the problems and money I've dumped into it. Its been pretty reliable but I've gone through so many blown sensors and parts where I'm just tired of it.. and it all started at about 40,000 miles... till now I'm at 80,000

That looks real good, I wonder how gunmetal would look on the 17" 2k wheels? How much drop did you get from the B&G's? I don't think going with lower profile tires is a good idea. I'm pretty sure your already scrapping as it is judging from the wheel gap and all.

I love duplicolor wheel paint. I reciently painted some things and the cold didnt bother the drying time. When I painted my wheels I swear the paint dried in 10 minutes (late summer early fall temps). It is seriously the bset paint (in a can) I have ever sprayed with.

size wise... 225/50/15 would be very wide and way too short. Stock SE's get 215/60/15 so if you want a smaller side wall look for a 215/55 or 225/55.

What is a good source for Duplicolor paints? Will this work good on plastic like a front grill or something like that?
