Why oh why can't the Max be RWD?

The idea stands that you should get a Pathfinder or hardbody framerails, turn whatever engine you have, mount to TTZ32 tranny and swap over a 2+2 Z32 rear axle. Rework the suspension and put a fuel cell in the trunk then you have a potential RWD max.

Actually the correct statement should be "I guess the M45 sedan has to fit in somewhere" Becuase if the maxima was RWD, it would be competing against the M series Infinitis. The maxima is much larger than the G series.

The Maxima USED to be RWD.. then came the FWD revolution and pretty much every car in Nissans lineup except the 240 which was taken off because of poor sales... probably because it was RWD. Now the entire RWD segment has taken off once again since everyone is interested in power all over again. Its a sales and marketing pitch.
