i would just go with the ebay test pipe. the only downside of a test pipe is that its illegal. you wont pass your inspection with a test pipe. im not speaking from experience, but from what i have heard, a high flow cat is pointless on a maxima, it will only give u 1 or 2 hp at the most.

if your only going to use a butt-dyno, there isnt a point, but if you are absolutely desperate for cheap hp, i guess its not that bad of a thing( if u like the smell of eggs)

A straight pipe will not smell like eggs. A bad cat will smell like that. A high flow cat gives zero power gains. It is not cheap power; its cheap arogance. If you want cheap power get a y pipe or SC. SC HP= ~$15/HP. Y-pipe is just about that.

test pipe is for dyno testing the A/F. there are no pros for daily use. I bought a carsound cat so i didnt have to mess with the stock rusted bolts during the Y pipe install. the stocker will out flow your power needs anyway.

hmm for a 99 id get a custom one made if you have the "s" pipe behind the cat like me. if not get the cheapest one that fits.
