A wierd noise from engine

undefined There is a wierd noise comming from my maxima it makes this noise everytime i rev the engine at high rpms and as soon as the throttle body closes it makes like a enlongater burpfarting noise its kinda wierdany suggestions that what it might be thanx

Do you have a cone intake...or removed the cover on the airbox? The sound coming from engine bay correct? It's probably the AIV. It's not very quiet when it opens......and is even louder if you have any sort of intake or removed the cover on the airbox.

yes i have a cone intake and i removed the air box. it didnt start to make the sound until a few weeks a go, the cone has been installed for a few months now. is there a way to stop it?

It only happens when you left off the gas and does it for a few seconds after idle? It's odd that it didn't make the noise before. A good way to deactivate it is to simply unplug the vaccum line from the AIV. You'll need to cap off the line with a screw or something of that sort.

se86 i tried the A.I.V thingy and it wasnt it, it was the thingy in front on top of the valve cover the flathead screw thingyi turned it and it made the noise a gain so i adjusted it and the noise stopped thanks tho

are you sure its comming from your intake?

i get a popping sound (and a gas smell) from the front of my car where i am sure the exhaust manifold had blown a big *** chunk where they combine.

mabe you devloped a crack recently?
