i went to adjust the striker plate last weekend. I used an impact driver and i still stripped and couldnt get out one of the screws. BOO

i put shims in the lower hinge to adjust it. If you move the striker you're merely allowing the door to hang improperly, but it will close nicely. If you shim it, like traditionally body panels are aligned, then it should line up.......I am just curious as to what would cause this.

find a shim....that sounds like another project. Ill be looking into that.

Mine doesn't sag, but the striker doesn't meet up properly (you can feel it "grab" a little when you close the door, not that most people would notice but I do). As I bought it used, I don't know what was done prior to me buying it but I can see an obvious repair on the upper hindge as it has an unpainted nut on the top bolt where the passenger side has both nuts painted. Maybe a shim would fix my small problem. And I'd have to say it was sagging before I bought it or else there would not have been a repair there. Who knows, though? Some people do crazy things to their cars!

weight over time causes this, unless your hinges are going bad

I mean the weight of the door, causes the hinges to sag, replace those and shim if necessary
