Another CAT Conv brand question.

Anyone used the high flow cat conv from Warpspeed? I'm planning on ordering one, any input? Thanks.

Mine just went after about 8 months. I got it in the group deal with the Y-pipe. So now I'm looking for a new one.

Not sure. The one I got from Warpspeed in the GD was a Magnaflow Carsound cat. I don't really know much about them. I have a 2k cali spec. I was looking at the ones on e-bay, but they seem like basically straight test pipes.
Here's a link for some that are not direct fit and need to be welded on:

Can someone point out which 2.5" cat would fit my 2k cali spec?

three-way catalytic converters on todays cars use a honeycomb structure. they are less restrictive then the older kind that used ceramic beads.

bottom line...the "hi-flow" cats are not much less restrictive then the stock one so i feel that they are a waste of money.

Would you do me a favor and help me pick out the correct cat for my car?
I have no f'n idea what I need with my cali spec. I don't car if it's direct fit... I'll just have the shop weld it on. I just don't know how many ports, etc...

I have the WSP metal substrate cat, it flows MUCH better than the OEM 5th gen cat......when you have a full exhaust setup. This is the only time a high flow unit is worth it, otherwise dont waste the $$. Reliability, Ive had it on for 30k miles and its doing just fine

E55AMG2 - GOT any proof it flows "MUCH" better? Didn't think so. Post a dyno before making claims contradicting 90% of the maxima population

If you buy warpspeed performance don't expect ANY warranty. From the second you get your parts you are on your own. If you buy anything from Dallas you are ASKING to be f-ed over like the 30 of us that posted in a thread I created a while back.

Just buy from some other REPUTABLE online dealer. Also, don't expect any kind of performance increase from an aftermarket cat. The one nissan uses is already 2.5 inches and flows just as good as any on the market.

The ONLY time a "high flow" (which the stock is) "might" be worth it is if you are boosted (in which case you probably would not want any cat). You will not gain hp over the stock one because the stock one is probably the best quality cat you will find. Car makers are under tremendous pressure to use VERY HIGH quality cats due to federal laws.

The cat only needs to last 96months/80k miles to meets the federal emissions (specs) laws.

thanks for the clarification. Everybody knows how I feel about warpspeed. Unfortunately I am not alone. 96 months is much longer than any other standard part warranty from a manufacturer.

I do and I can. As anyone knowledgeable about these sorts of things knows, a high flow convertor ONLY works when the exhaust is fully modified.

If you buy warpspeed performance don't expect ANY warranty. From the second you get your parts you are on your own. If you buy anything from Dallas you are ASKING to be f-ed over like the 30 of us that posted in a thread I created a while back.
Wrong again, you just have to talk to him. I had my Y and B pipe redone twice because they werent the correct fit. Also, he was nice enough to replace one of my subframe connectors because it started rusting.

Just buy from some other REPUTABLE online dealer. Also, don't expect any kind of performance increase from an aftermarket cat. The one nissan uses is already 2.5 inches and flows just as good as any on the market.
Wrong yet again. The nissan one does NOT flow as well. Also, its not truly 2.5". The flow rate is fine until you really start moving air (Y pipe or headers) and until it melts itself shut from said mods.

The ONLY time a "high flow" (which the stock is) "might" be worth it is if you are boosted (in which case you probably would not want any cat). You dont have to be boosted. It isnt the best quality. Thats not entirely true....
