For how long to disconnect Bat. to reset ECU?

Does anyone know, or timed, how long approx. do you have to keep battery disconnected to reset ECU?

If you press the brake pedal after you disconnect, 15 minutes should be fine.

~1 hour, but I've just done it for a few seconds , just touching the cables together it will ground out the ecu. I'm not 100% if someone has prooved this is a safe way to reset, however that's how I do it, that's how the ford's all get reset, and the ecu still goes into relearn after i do that.

What does it do if you press the break pedal?

I thought disconnecting the battery doesn't reset ECU? There was a discussion on this before, isn't there a write up on how to reset your ecu? Like tap brake or accelerator certain times and turn on ignition wait couple of second or something in that nature? I'm confused

This procedure is for 02-03's. For 00-01 you just need to disconnect the battery overnight (8-10 hrs).
