Impala

heres what i found on the impala ss

0-60 1/4
1994 Chevrolet Impala SS 7.1 15.4
1995 Chevrolet Impala S 7.0 15.4
1996 Chevrolet Impala SS 7.3 15.6

they have a detuned LT1, detuned to about 260 hp. of course, being a big ol' 350, the intake and exhaust will give more power than on a puny import engine. i still say you'd take him. never raced one myself... been wanting to though.

I'm an auto with mods and have taken a stock Impala SS before 2-3 lengths.

coolness.....I actually challenged him tonight....but he turned it down......I think he knows that he won't win......something about getting over 4000 lbs moving quickly bothers him

I've raced my uncle's 95 SS twice and spanked him both times (by about a car and a half to 80). All he had at the time was an intake. You shouldn't have any problem with him with the stick and your mods. Also, keep the race realitively short. He did walk me past 140. There are lots of aftermarket parts available for these cars so we have to be careful which ones we challenge.
I can't see an auto beating one of those.

Or you could end up racing a Lingenfelter special. I read about a supercharged version that would destroy a late model Corvette!
