Ok, as soon as time allows I will post a message containing 2 things.

1. My horrible luck which would have my second 100% no fault accident that the at fault parties have caused front end damge to the EXACT same spot in the last 3 months.

2. a review that compares my rental ('05 max se) to my '02 gle that is now in the shop again.

My question is....The at fault party THIS TIME has progessive insurance.

here are my choices for fixng the car.

A. use progressive network program which means...they flatbed the car somewhere (i have no say) its fixed, flatbedded back and then they LIFETIME warrenty anything they fixed

B. I tell them where to send it, then the warrenty only applies to who fixed it. (So if I send it to a Nissan dealer, I would get there 1 year mechanical,etc. etc.)

My trusted mechanic back home told me to be careful about Progressive shops, the ones in Pittsburgh can be "Shady", not all of them, but he knows the garages who work with progressive are not as quality as other...He also told me that you can't go wrong with a lifetime warrenty....So basically he doesnt know what I should do?

Please!!!! Does anyone have some suggestions, or experiences?

Progressive is quick to respond and cut a check to you b/c once you get a check from them, you can not collect any more money in the future to fix your car. (If I remember correctly) I would take it to a Nissan dealership or another body shop that you know of that does a good job. Try asking around in the local threads for a decent one in your area. This probably doesn't help you too much but I'm bored at work and wanted to respond.

 

I'd rather have the work done ONCE at the right shop, then worry about dealing with the lifetime warranty due to a unknown shop doing a cheap/quick/dirty job.

 

Find out HOW the lifetime warranty works. More often than not you will have to take it to the dealer, get a claims adjuster to validate the repair, then wait for payment to be sent.

I had an extended warranty like this for my last car, and MAN did they me good.

 

I've filed 3 claims with them. Due to circumstances that would be a long story, I used 2 different network shops in my area, and one around L.A., CA too. I did that b/c of the lifetime warranty, and they bill Progressive directly. So now hassle of dealing w/reimbursements. I called the shops daily anyways, but I could also call my claims adjustor and have them help pressure the shop for faster turnaround and updates, etc...
