Symptoms = squeeky noises when going over bumps/up driveways/gas-stations/ or press the back end of the car, if it bounces up and down several times, its out.. if it feels kinda firm, its still good.. or excessive wheel hop...

check to see if alignment is off, usually when it is or when ur bushings are out, steering wheel shakes over high speeds.. could also be wheel bearings.. use process of elimination

Wow nice. WTF kind of technical babble is that?? You really have no effin' idea what you are talking about. Please try to refrain yourself from constantly talking out of your ignorant ****. Maxima.org would appreciate it.

If you are going over 120 mph, the last thing you should worry about is a lil vibration. Worry about how hard you are going to go splat when you hit the concrete. This is the reason why I am not a huge fan of used cars.

Bhahahaha!!!!!

Especially if your on lowering springs, the car doesn't bounce at all.

what good is driving at 120, no one will see you when you pass by. drive real slow so they can check out your ride

and why would you drive that fast, unless you were on a closed course?

Actually most of the time vibrations as you describe at higher speeds are indicitive of the wheels being out of balance or changes to the tires themselves such as flat spots, belt shifting, etc.

I doubt it is your struts.

ok thanks for the info..and the reason i go those speed is becuase i go to race tracks alot and have performance test with my friends rides..maybe because i have 4000 miles so it kinda means i n eed to rotate the tire??

Yes, "squeaky", "kinda firm" "could be suspension". Wow your technical knowledge is massive!!!!! I especially like the one where you ask about what octane to use. I might not have a "real" car, but at least I'm not "real" stupid.

I may try out the altima seR front struts. From what I have been reading is that they are stiffer than stock springs and a good price too. Not adjustable though. What do you guys think?

why would the ser struts being stiffer than maxima springs make you want to get them? so what if the alti struts are less stiff than your eibach springs? (if that even has anything to do with their desireability) or do you mean the maxima struts? I feel very right about now reading this thread... see what happens when I work 8am-10pm... I miss everything.

hey cloud, what exactly do you drive? the 6th gen has had a bad batch of struts, so I assume jonnie was asking those that had the bad ones what they experienced.

j-waka, tire rotation isn't due until 7500.

My stock front struts are blown. Koni inserts cost 375. The altima SeR struts are 57.00 each at mynismo.com. Someone on altimas.net also has been through all the struts listed here plus the nismos and said he has had noise problems. Now he has the seR struts and says they arent as stiff as nismos and dont make noise. Just a cheaper alternative to try before buying the adjustables.

I drove an SE-R alti and the suspension seemed mushy compared to the Maxima. The whole car seemed mushy and did not impress me. I think if u can save, the Konis will be worth it in the long run.

now you have my interest. (just threw me for a loop comparing different parts). so do you know if the alti struts are w/in spec for ours? i like the koni ones for down the road if the $ ever comes around (adjustability factor mostly as I'm sure u know). but of course we have to use our/or someone else's questionable oem ones to get them made. (or is the important part replaced by koni?)

if the SER ones work, I'm sure they will be a good alternative for you instead of swapping your springs back to get Nissan to warrant you new ones. (unless D-Max^^ is right about the mushy SER)

Im at 40k so no more warranty work for me. I figured I might just try these springs first. I know some of the seRs are running the Eibachs now so im sure the ride is good.

Glude: I think EIbachs are a good choice if U dont want to invest in struts.

so if my struts makes a squeaky noise when i go over bumps, does that mean my struts are bad?

I already have the eibachs on my car. i just need new front struts because mine are blown. and YES, you will have to invest in front struts if you are on eibachs. The stocks will go eventually.

Dude you don't even have common sense. You shouldn't have even posted at all.
