Bomz

Just got my Bomz CAI and I was curious if i could just use the throttle body attatchemtn just to have a short ram. Im not in the mood to drill. If so, would the little hole on top of that adapter (the one with the pipes to go with the hoses) would that hose need to be covered up or is it fine open, if it needs to be covered what could i use?

Ive never seen something like that before
Is that a grommet in the hole? It's fine to leave it how it is if that hole is covered.

I wouldnt recommend driving w/ it unplugged. What does BOMZ say goes to that hole??

whole isnt covered but it does have a rubber boot around the edging inside of the whole. This is the BOMZ CAi i just used the mid pipe instead of the whole thing. I take it this is bad then huh

See if you can take a pic from behind, how big is the hole....nickle or quarter sized? IMO - I think as long as that rubber grommet is there and secure - youll be fine...but I duno why BOMZ chose to drill a hole there

gezz, that hole is for an air sensor. If I remember correctly, there's gonna be a sensor in your stock air box. Get the sensor and the rubber that holds it and plug it back in that hole. DO NOT RUN WITH THE HOLE OPEN ( SHIET will get inside the BD)

It fits perfectly, just plug-and-plug,

good luck

IT IS UPSIDE DOWN, FLIP IT and put the sensor in there. The hole should face down.

Luigi, what you talkin about upside down, if i flip it the senser for the MAS would reach and the hoses wouldnt reach. either way. Here is the hole in a close up, its about a nickle big and its open

Whats the Air inlet temp, that was never on the factory box. Everything that was on the factory air box is on the Bomz intake. I do still have the Snorkle on, not sure if i need to take that off. This intake is a Cold air intake but im using it for a short ram intake.

i have the same intake from bomz. on the stock air box there was a place on the stock box where the sensor was screwed onto the box. look at ur stock box u will see it. anyway u have to put that piece into the hole but keep in mind that it wont fit perfectly. what i did was put some super glue on the rubber piece (dont get any glue on the sensor) thats on the intake and that kept it in place. u are probably idling higher because of not having that sensor there. dont leave that hole open

I had the same prob. Here's what you do:

Look at the snorkel (OEM setup). There should be an air sensor plugged into the side of the snorkel near the airbox. Take out the sensor as well as the rubber mounting device the sensor attaches to. Now, put that rubber thing in the hole on the midpipe. Attach the sensor. You're done.

That's what I did and it worked fine.

BTW, I suggest keeping the snorkel setup to allow more fresh air to reach the cone filter. Put it this way.... can't hurt, right??
