Power windows are the bane of my existence.
alrighty, the motor went out on my driver's side window for the second time (had it replaced once already), and now someone can just walk up to my car and pull the window down if they so desire.
it was rather pricey to have it fixed the last time, and I'm thinking I want to take a shot at it myself this time. Of course I will get a Chilton manual (I know it's a sin to not have one already), but is it worth the hassle, or are there any tools I will need beyond a good set of wrenches and sockets?

thanks! I called my local dealer to get part numbers and I found a couple regulators and regulator/motor combos on ebay, anybody heard anything about the quality of parts (given that they match up with Nissan specs)?

i just did three windows in my car two regulators and one motor
the only trick is the actuall door opener cover the tabs are on the top and bottom front side of the cover there are two screws at the bottom of the drivers door cover the grab handle has a scew in it the cover just prys off
then pull the door panel off once loose from the door lift up unhook the electricals and set aside.
now peel the plastic back you will see the motor and the regulator
put the window all the way down unbolt it from the regulator two places
pull the window out remove the gaurd and grab rail stay.unbolt the motor three bolts unbolt the regulator four bolts roll over to the left unplug the motor from the power supply and take a scribe or pick and remove the wire from the door pull out the whole assembly. three,#3 phillips head screws hold the motor and regulator together,the motor i bought didnt have the factory ends on it so i just added the ones from the old motor. i got a lifetime one from the local parts store for $121.99 the factory one here was $269.00
tools youll need: a 1/4 inch ratchet, a 4 inch extension ,10 mm socket,pick or scribe
