Bosal or Ansa Muffler... anyone have either?
Bosal or Ansa Muffler... anyone have either?
I need a new muffler bad since mine is cut in half at the b-pipe. I have posted many questions about them lately. I would just like to get the OEM one since it is free flowing enough and should work just fine with just a y-pipe and intake correct? Also I want close to a stock sound and these are only around $100.
Does anyone have either the Bosal or Ansa muffler on their maxima and if so can you please tell me everything about them. I would really like to see a picture of both since I am trying to get as close to OEM as possible. Please if you have one and have a picture please post it or email it to me. Thanks in advance for all the info.

Both of these companies supply exhaust components for more exotic cars like BMW, Ferrari, Maserati etc. And from the brief searching I just did, some of those Ansa mufflers are over $500 alone and none are specifically designed for the Maxima. Check out Cattman if you want something specifically designed for our cars and meet the requirements you mentioned in regards to sound quality etc.
I have found both for around $100 on the site below and every other site that sells OEM for the Maximas. Has anyone used them for their OEM replacement... it is what Midas quoted me for.

actually yeah, i went to napa to get pads and rotors and i saw an oe exhaust replacement book because my exhaust is loud eventhough it's stock, i bought the car used and modded slightly, but they make bosal for our car that meets oe requirements and is a heck of a lot cheaper than dealerships. pretty much to my understanding, it's a cheaper alternative to stock exhaust for our maximas. BOSAL i dunno about ansa.

A lot of guys in Toronto bring their cars to a particular shop because the owner is an ex- Nissan master technician. According to him, bosal is the manufacturer for the Nissan mufflers as well as a lot of other cars on the market including some high end cars. So I don't think you will have a problem with the bosal. He recommends these to guys all the time that can't afford aftermarket stuff

That's true, I had another orger tell me that the Bosal rear muffler doesn't have the spring loaded trap door in it...that switches between low flow and high flow. Both outlet pipes flow 100% of the time and it's a little louder than the Oem 00-03 trick muffler!
Old thread, but I just put a Walker Quiet Flow of my 02' Maxima. I have a full Cattman exhaust (FastCast, B-Pipe) and with the Walker muffler it is just slighlty louder than stock. My wife thought the Cattman muffler was too loud.
. But that Cattman muffler sure is a piece of art!
