Need new exhaust; Walker or Bosal opinions?

Time to replace mine. I like the quiet oem, so I'm looking at Bosal or Walker Quiet-Flow 3. Any opinions on these?

Are you talking about a complete catback or just a muffler?

cat-back. The back plate of my resonator came off, and the shell of the muffler too. It's not loud yet though. I found both offer two pieces, the resonator w/pipe and the muffler assy. About $200 total but walker's got a $30 rebate right now.

Out here they have a chain called "lou's custom exhaust", I just paid $150 for a custom catback and a stock take-off muffler from a new mustang, I don't know if they have anything like that near you, but if they do you might want to grab some prices from them as well, you might be able to pay less and not have to do a damn thing!

I ordered the Walker B pipe from autopartswarehouse.com (part#56000) for my 97 GXE. They sent a Bosal B pipe without a sensor bung. My stock system had the final O2 sensor in the B pipe behind the cat so I needed the pipe with bung ring. Anyway I was able to get a sensor bung put in at my local shop, just one of those little hassles. What I'm saying is take a good look at your original pipe to see if your final sensor is in the cat or behind the cat and order accordingly. Bosal's website clearly lists two different B pipes for the 97s, one without and one with a sensor bung. Walker's website isn't so clear. I can't really tell if their B pipe includes the bung. Once I bolted it up the fit was excellent and the hangers lined up good. Both ends have the two bolt flanges so it's a simple bolt in installation. Don't forget to order gaskets and hangers if needed too.

Hey 880, I did check and mine has the O2 in the cat pipe, so that saves $50 on that pipe. So your b-pipe has the resonator in it right? How's the quality? autopartswarehouse seems to have best price for Bosal so far. And summitracing best price for Walker.
For anyone interested:
b-pipe (resonator) w/O2 Bosal#286-159 Walker#56000
b-pipe (resonator) no O2 Bosal#287-703 Walker#47722
muffler Bosal#145-703 Walker#21182

I might call my local shop too, thanks. But exhaust work is so fun!

I probably should have been more clear about exactly where my original bung was. It was in a short, (about 6"), S shaped pipe between the cat and the resonator. This short pipe is eliminated with the aftermarket B pipes - Your new B pipe will bolt directly to the cat. So unless your bung is in the end of your cat, you'll need a B pipe with a bung. Quality is reasonable - could be heavier gauge, especially the resonator, but I sure it'll be fine for the 4 -5 more years that the car is likely to last. I bought the Walker muffler. Again I'm happy with the fit. Bolted right up and is centered in the indent of the rear bodywork. However it sounds quite restrictive - at WOT above 4K RPM it sounds like a jet engine - like the engine is struggling to push the exhaust through it. I'm thinking of buying an OEM Nissan muffler at nissanpartscheap.com for $199 as I think it flowed a lot better. One final thought, this resonator and pipe is one piece. Very awkward to ship - my resonator was a little dinged up upon arrival though cosmetics don't concern me, I'm sure it would some people. Hope this helps.
