mine (well, tilleys) is fiber images, and the quality is amazing.... i have a vis hood on my accord, and honestly, i am not pleased with the quality of it... the coating is cracking and chipped and the carbon fiber matting isnt straight at all. i do understand its cause the hood is the invader style and is hard to lay in straight, but i think it looks pretty crappy for the price

i dont know how much was paid for the hood, and i am sorry i have a 4th gen and i know that he has had this hood for around 4 years or so.... i dont know if they make one for the 5th gen. you could always call and ask cause sometimes they dont put all of their products on the site, or you could see if they would be willing to do a group deal for you if you could get enough 5th gen people interested? (if they dont make one yet, they want to know that they wont lose money in the long run from making the mold, etc).... sorry for any confusion

VIS here, fits like a glove, I have had a diff CF hood I got from CustomMaxima about 2 years ago and it didn't fit good, it wobbled like crazy on the highway and hood pins where a MUST with it. My VIS has no hood pins and looks shnazzy.

Like I've said before, VIS is overrated on this board. It's really not all that great.

then what are the other options...cm's sounds like **** and the vis may be overpriced, and so so in appearance, but fit is much better. i guess if those are my choices, i would choose vis-even if it is overrated. my .02. you're welcome to add you .98

CM is fiberglass with a FAKE layer of CF over it and once coat of clear coat. The hood latch looks like a piece of metal with something welded to it, it doesn't even fit the hood right without major redrilling of the latch holes. I don't even think they sell it no more, they set up a group deal for the hood, I got the 1st one cause I paid right away- got mine in the mail and they posted info like. We found a defect in the hoods and will no longer sell em via group deal. They didn't tell me what the defect was, nor even mail me to tell me bout it. I got into a small fender bender and the hood just shattered like it was fiberglass ! I seen pics of VIS on Integras that stayed in one piece even after the whole front end got totally ripped off. Might be overrated, but after seeing countless RSXs and Integras go through my shop with VIS, my choice of hoods was clear.

Had a hood from RedlineMax.com. Fit like a$$, latch needed major adjustment and still didn't fit snug. Sounds kind of like Blackbird's CM hood latch. Here's some pics.

other than the latch it looks very similar to the hood I had in fitment and even the look of the CF on the outside of the hood. VIS is rolled under the hood and latch looks JUST like OEM hood latch, it is much thicker too. I need to find a picture of my old hood, put it up on cardomain and link it here. If anyone has a better hood for a Max than VIS, I have yet to have seen it !

Looks like there is a little bit of a fitment issue around the headlight.

A solution would be to get enough people to ask fiber image to make us a hood. Just washed the car and looks as new as the day I bought it in May.
