rear wheel camber adjustment?
rear wheel camber adjustment?
I was wondering if the camber on the rear wheels can be adjusted? I've been getting bad wear on the inside of both rear tires and they seem to have too much negative camber. From the back, it's easy to see the bottoms of the tires are kicked out a little. I have 15" rims and using a T-square on flat ground measured a 3/8" difference between the top and bottom of the rim which I think is 2.5% if my math is right. Is this normal or too high? I can't seem to find any specs anywhere. Thanks for your help.

sounds more like a tire pressure issue to me. The only thing that can be adjusted is toe and that involves bending the axle, done by very few shops. This is a common "mod" to the b14-b15 sentra and 200sx for better handling on the track. I dont think anyone has actually done this to a maxima.
i believe they have to be custom made. one guy was going to charge me $700 to make one from scratch from a cnc machine. i was like no thanks. i know stillen makes one for the front.
But how would you use a camber plate on the rear. It's a beam axle. On the fronts, it's a strut, so you can use the plate to adjust the camber. On the rear, the beam ties the wheels and suspension together. How are you going to adjust the camber on a beam without bending it?
And to the original poster, you can't get an alignment on the back wheels. If a shop tries to tell you they can, leave immediately. They're trying to scam you.
