Hissing noise at the front of the car. Help..
Recently, I have noticed a hissing/rubbing/metallic sound that seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the car, probably from the wheel well. It starts at around 15mph, but when I brake, it stops. Also, when I tap the brake pedal fairly hard (without coming to a complete stop), the noise stops briefly but then returns.
Any ideas?

if it is the dust shield: it is a pretty soft metal shield. just bend it away from the rotor. if that does not fix it, then you may have to replace the caliper. but before you replace the calliper, have someone drive the car slow, and run next to it. make sure thats the problem. if it does not get fixed after bending the shield, try cleaning the caliper and re-greasing it, before replacing the caliper
