Opinions on Tein SS Dampers
I'm beginning the search for a good set of coil overs and I've narrowed my choices down to the Tein SS and the JIC's. I've heard good things about the JIC's but haven't heard much about the Tein SS. The Teins also have the optional EDFC (electronic damping force controller) which I personally think is pretty cool since you can adjust the damping from inside the car. If anyone has the Tein SS dampers, let me know what you think.
My friend's G35 has the Tein with EDFC. Very nice setup and priced accordingly. If Tein had offered an SS for the A32 like mine I would've bought theirs instead of the Progress coils I have now. JIC looked nice but after researching them I found their tech abilities to be lacking here in the USA.
I met a guy from SELOC with a SC Lexus gs400 and he had the Tein SS with the electronic damping controls and he said that he loved them. The nice thing is that you can get everything with Tein including the damping cheaper than a JIC Flt A2 setup with no electronic damping system.
I just had my Tein SS installed a week ago, but didnt buy the EDFC quite yet, saving money
. I love how it rides, I have it set in the middle level of stiff/softness. The car sits just above the tires now, way better than the H&R springs I had on previously.

JIC FLTA2s are WAY better than Tein. I installed a set of Tein SS on a 200SX SE-R and the ride was just a lil better than AGX and Prokits that he had before. JICs have issues with shocks, but they have new redesigned shocks out now for the front that are much stronger than the older ones. I bought my set used and fronts where gone, I repleaced the shocks and the ride is awesome. Customer service rocked at JIC- I called them few times, and they called me back, I spoke to Jeff. I wouldn't buy Teins simply cause with lowering of the car with their setup- you loose suspension travel.
