Replacing the fanbelt
Replacing the fanbelt
My car recently started making a high pitched whistle that goes higher with the RPM's. I think it is the fanbelt needing to be replaced. How difficult would it be to replace it, and how much money would a new belt cost me?
new belt = ~$10
If you can't find it in the 5g how to's/FAQ's stickys, read the stickeys in the 4th gen forum, it's the same process, I've done it on a 4, 5, and a 5.5g.
We have drive belts, same thing, but we don't have a belt driving our fans.

The fron belt is ieasy, the one that spinds the alt and a/c. The otehr one in the back is a bit more invilved, jsut takes more time, there's a lever in the back of the pulley you have to get to in order to get it off, once you do it once, it will be much easier. You'll discover tricks of the trade.

My point exactly.
And there are 2 sets of belts.
