Out with Sprints,in with.....??

I know that the suspension thing has been discussed many times before but I never really paid attention because I went with Sprint and didn't really worry about anything else.

Now 2+ yrs later I want something different b/c of the rough ride and my car isn't one of the lucky one's that can hold an alighnment with Sprint's.

I am between H&R or Progressive. H&R has 1.4 & 1.3 drop. That seems like a decent drop. The Progressive has 1.75 & 1.75. That is pretty close to the Sprint so I don't know if that would make alot of sense to go with them.

I love the look of the drop of the Sprint, so would going with H&R be to much of a raise? What is the best compromise of drop and a decent ride? Or is there not enough ride difference between any of them to even worry about?
BTW I thought there was a sticky on this but I couln't find it. Thanks!!!

big difference. H&R's are gonna look one step from stock.
If you want a nice ride get adjustable struts and a spring that will not look like a lift kit. I have H&R's and I hate them( the look up front) Had them for along long long time. Im going s-tech and illumina

Why do you hate them? Is the drop unappealing to you (uneven drop with the front being higher than the rear) or is it the ride quality? Or are they just not low enough for you, period.

Just curious cause I'm considering those springs (along with some others) and want to get as much input as possible before I pull the trigger on something.

I'm an auto btw, so I'm also curious to know if you are too. Some folks who have manuals complain about the uneven drop while the auto folks say it sits even. Must be due to the weight of the tranny, but if you're an auto too, then perhaps another spring might be in order.

My H&R's are settled and they sit low, not slammed but low. Just keep in mind the H&R's are quality springs.

I've had Sprints, Eibachs and H&Rs. I would recommend the Eibachs and H&Rs to anyone. They are both quality designs.

...Sprint, not so much.

beigh max=h&r black max=sprint

there is a huge difference. after being on sprints for 2 years switching to h&r would look and feel like stock. h&r are really comfortable that drop isnt very big. sprints are the complete opposite very stiff and slammed. i guess what you think its more important the slammed look or comfortable ride.

any of you guys with eibach experience any saging in the rear, my max speeds are horible especially with the system, i've heard the eibachs are supose to be the stiffest springs

i just installed eibach pro and kyb gr2's and the drop is alot more than i thought. i used to be able to put my whole fist between the fender and tire but now i can barely put two fingers in. cant say im to thrill with the ride. i was expecting it to be more firm. maybe i should have gone with illumas for shocks.

The Tokiko set-up is good for 5 speeds I hear. Good ride and a level decent drop for the manual transmission.

Thanks for that comparision pic. I just can't deside on what to do! The H&R drop doesn't look that bad but the look of the sprint is great.
Any more Progressive users have any input. I guess I can also throw the Eibachs into the ring.
And by the way in my 1st post I was saying that, just from looking at the numbers, it seems like there wouldn't be that much difference between the sprint and the progressive, but I don't know?

Eibach's and Illuminas handle and ride very very nice. You won't have much suspension travel left if you go sprint.

yea...i have sprints with kyb's. I've know had them for 9months. The ride isnt so bad unless you hit a bumpy rd. I'm thinking of switching to coilovers soon.

if you like the lowness of the sprint but want a better quality ride get the S-tech I've heard in comparison to sprints they ride a lot better, paired with illuminas or AGX many are enjoying them, but if comfort is more you thing, get some H&R.

About 1year+. Still rides smooth, and soon I am getting SubFrameConnectors, so it will ride even better.

i love my Progress and i have been on them for over a year and they still ride great, it rides better than a stock 04 SE's. and the drop came out nice and even for me. H&R's tend to sag abit in the back

wow looking good man.

My answer to the original question is I have had eibachs and then sprints....tomorrow I go back to Eibachs. Ride and Handling are priorities over how my car looks.
