how much would you do? Lets say im going to replace everything from the intake to the muffler. I want the highest performance possible, without having the "bees in a can" muffler. Ive decided on the intake, but now what? As far as the y-pipe goes, WarpSpeed seems to be the best, but what about everything else? Headers??? Catback? Muffler? What is your guys oppinion???

i'm shooting for the cattman manifold back system when the time comes. everything including the headers back. i might pass on the highflow cat though.

I never do... haha... unless there is some sort of visual inspection in your state...

Never heard of anyone who has had problems with street legality... most mods aren't street legal anyways...

I'd go for the cattman headers and do a custom cat-back system to save some $$ on that (~$200 custom vs. $500 brand name). Keep your stock muffler, it flows plenty and will keep sound down as well.

 

I called Brain Catts (Cattman) and spoke with him to length about the exhaust system. He said they are opening a new site in about 3 weeks or so, and that they are sold out of the headers. So, anyway, it will still be a while yet until I can get my exhaust system from him.

Stick with the stock muffler? I figured it would be worth it to just replace that too.

 

Well, people seem to like the sound suppression from the stock muffler... it also ensures that there's no droning in the cabin.... the muffler itself is said to be free flowing enough... so all you'd have to do is have someone fabricate the piping in the rear section to switch it from 2.25" piping to 2.5" piping, since most aftermarket exhaust piping for the Maxima is 2.5" piping (Greddy, Cattman, Frankencar catbacks, and the Budget, Warpspeed, Cattman & Frankencar b-pipes)...
