first check your antifreeze level.
when my antifreeze gets low I lose some heat.
Do you get heat when the car is moving?
do you have the lever on the left side of the climate control in the down position?

I have a similar problem but with a twist.. maybe someone can help me..

I DO get heat.. no problem.. but if for example I have the heat set to window defrost vents, I get hot air blowing on the windshield, but I also get COLD air coming through the console vents at the same time ???

Read u mail.

That is a feature, explains FSM.

Internetautomator: wasser aux, buenos aires in... if not, then tubing collapses and in the end whole engine block is sucked inwards ...and maybe becomes 850cc fiat. Oh boy, dont want that to happen for my friends. take care.

Some times my heat works and some times it doesnt (or not at all for now, its still recovering from our wreck ) When it doesn't I just look for the relay under to hood, its on the firewall, dead center, take off both tubes and put them back on solves my problem. I'm thinking my tubes are cracked or bad or the relay is. BC I hear a sucking sound near the relay and it lessens if i put pressure on the tube. Im thinking a new relay in a few months (or when it gets cold, not much of a need for it now) or a zip tie will do.

GL with your problem, hope I helped.

that you are low on antifreeze and or you need to bleed the system of air pockets

I own a 91 SE and when my antifreeze got a little low, I began losing heat as well. The heat became intermittent (i.e. blowing normal heat for like 5 minutes, turning cold, then warming up again, only to turn cold again)

I had my radiator flushed and filled (it was at the beginning of winter so I was just doing it as winter prep) turns out that, that did the trick. Heat has been hot as hell (like it normally is).

I dunno if this will help or not, but it might - There's a lever/switch to the left of the thermostat/fan control. It goes up and down and theres a picture of the guy with wavy lines for air on top...and on the bottom just the guy with no wavy lines of air. When the switch is set towards up (the pic with the lines showing air) that means that it is sucking in air from the outside and blowing it through your vents...when its down its not blowing in air from outside. That MIGHT be why you're getting cold air coming in through the console vents, but then again I could be wrong...

Brian- its the 2 tubes connected to 14. the left on in the pic is either cracked or loose, and it sounds like a sucking sound. So to fix my problem I just push the vacume tube twords the relay. Something right there has to be replaced, and I'll get to that sooner or later. Thanks for the link
