That page doesn't address the trans and axle codes. Is there another page that does? BTW, the car is a 99 SE-L, VIN JN1CA21D6XTxxxxxx. The trans code is RS5 F50A, and the axle code below it is FG38. Does this tell?

Easy way to find out if you have ABS. Next time it rains, slam your brakes hard somewhere. If your pedal starts vibrating and you are able to hold the car straight, you have ABS, if you lose control and hit a tree or pole, you don't have abs.

I have a 95SE, 5-speed. Its a Canadian car. Its loaded and has ABS. Would it automatically have the LSD then? If so, are the Canadian LSD 5-speeds less prone to the dreaded differential bearing problem?

You don't have to wait til it rains. Just find a safe road somewhere away from heavy traffic and do it there. Slam on your brakes and if they pulse (up and down), then you got ABS. That's how mine works on my truck.

I checked and have no V. It seems to me the other letter was an A which I have. I take it that not all 95SEs for the Canadian market had LSD. I ordered mine loaded and I don't remember it being specified as an option. Maybe it came with the 96s.

What does a 'V' have to do with anything? A 'V' means it would be a '97.

Keep in mind, the VIN does not always tell you that you have ABS. For instance, I have an 'A' for 'Miscellaneous (probably because I have side airbags) but I have ABS. I beleive The Wizard has a 'D' and he has ABS. The easiest thing to do is what The Wizard said, simply turn your key to the 'on' position and look for the ABS light.

Yeah and if for some reason he didnt have abs, he would flat spot his tires causing a ride nobody would want to live with

I don't have ABS, but don't they put an indicator on the dash that lights up when you start the car? My truck has one. It says "ABS". But yes, if you can get it to slide sideways while breaking, either you don't have ABS or it doesn't work.

Its not hard to get abs to kick in. You don't have to be going so fast to get it to activate. If your gonna worry about that, don't race and save your tranny or engine.
