Surge during Acceleration
Surge during Acceleration
Surge? I posted a question about my Max surging...it would do that after an hour of driving, really weird. But, in the end, the problem was faiulty throttle position control sensor. Hey, I had the coils replaced on warranty about 40,000 kms before the surging.

On the org it seems like everyone always refers to the MAF.... which most of the time it is, but surging can be caused by a number of things.
EGR valve could be stuck open or leaking round the base, O2 sensors, TP, or MAF malfunction. Fuel injector wire harness connectors could be loose, not sufficient fuel pressure from fuel pump, defective fuel pump, air/fuel mix in fuel injectors is too lean.
Some of those are a lot more likely to happen than others, but I had a car onetime that surged........ it ended up being low on refrigerant and it was from the AC system kicking on and off that caused the surge. That was probably one out of a million.
