My tooth has a cavity!

My grill is having a problem with what looks like a clear coat peeling off the tooth portion. Has anyone seen this before? My wife took the car to the dealership and they had not seen anything like it before. Of course, I'm past my 36k mile warranty so the dealer couldn't do anything about it. I have a picture, but I don't know how to post it.

Thats what prompted me into the trenz....I took it for a carwash and blew off a big piece of the gunmetal colored coating on the tooth, looked horrible, cant be fixed either.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yank that biatch! Tie one end to the grill, and another to your front door.....then reverse.....

Seriously, plenty of people have reported that problem. Not much you can do except buy another one (not from dealer) or go aftermarket.

Sounds like a perfect time for an upgrade. Lose those buck teeth!

I agree. The grill is the ugliest thing on the car. A new grill makes the front look SOOOOOOOOO much nicer.

Funny you say that Micheal, I was thinking of doing that to mine. (I have Winter frost also with a trenz grill)

I wonder if it could be done successfully with a trenz grill. Anyone seen or done this? Im sure if it were sanded and powdercoated it could....hmmmm....

The lights would look hot too, huh?

Nismo, funny you say that also, I was thinking of doing the grill black, vs white. I was also thinking of leaving a chrome rim on the outside, and the burger in also.

Dont suppose any photoshop pros could take a whack at this??

I have the tan interior, but that wouldnt matter much to me. The lights, black or white, would be hot.

Hmmmmm.....

Muchas Gracias JSmith!

Knowing your dislike for Trenz, this must have been hard for you. Youre reaching out brotha!!

I like this, think I would keep the burger chrome though....what do you guys think??

Anyone know someone who has painted a Trenz? I saw on here somewhere a guy did it at home, and it didnt go well.....but I guess a paint shop wouldnt have a problem?

Advice?

Someone needs to just buy a plastic injection molding machine so we can make whatever kinda grilles we want. Here guys, someone needs to just bite the bullet and buy this, forget waiting for the after market, and create our own!!

This one makes bumpers! Check it out man!No prices though....can someone check that for me please?

Thats funny. No offense taken team playa. I wish there was a different grill out there. Trenz was better than the stock IMO. 2 each his own.

Now, making our own grills...theres something to think about. Whos the resident plastics expert?

Damn, Dues already has his grill done....

Here is my new grill, I`ll be installing it in a day or two. It is like Carcus and Koreanman and JJT. I got input from these guys and decided on it.

Remember to Powdercoat the grill, NOT paint, for longevity. Damn that powdercoated grill of mine looks yummy. Im very pleased and it only cost $75 to powder coat it. Had it done over lunchtime.

Yes it's photoshpped. I think that the grill was taken from the Australian version of the Max.

Nice deus, real nice...I currently have an F'd up OEM grille in my closet (painted black, clearcoated, chipped up) and was wondering if this powdercoating can be done on plastic and if its durable?

04Black: U cant powdercoat plastic becuase the part is heated up to 400 degrees. The guy who did mine had to remove the plastic trim on the top so it wouldnt mely. i re-rivted it back

Jayz: I used to have a black members only jacket. I think I gave it away years ago. I loved that jacket!!

So, this makes me wonder, can the Trenz be painted?

If its plastic, it has to be painted, not powdercoated. If its metal is SHOULD be powdercoated, not painted.
