Looks like you need a new starter.

Try banging it.

the clicking noise is normally associated with a weak/dead battery. If you've tested the battery, test the alternator as well, it may not be full charge.

The same way you tested the battery. Take out your multi-meter and check the resistance between both terminals with the ignition in the ON position. The voltage should drop now. If voltage drops below 11.5 volts, there is high resistance in the starting system. Check the connections to the starter or to the battery. If everything is 'ok', then its your starter.

BTW...Do you get a continous clicking noise? Do the warning lights flicker in conjuction with the continous clicking noises? If not, is it just a single click?

The exact same thing happened to my mother's Kia. Odd enough as it sounds, see that the battery terminla sare on very tight and that there is no corrosion. if there is, then clean it off with baking soda.

A bottle of coke works also

Did you try jump starting the car? I think there just isn't enough charge in the battery to fully start the car, hence why it'll crank, but stop right after.

Even though you already fixed your problem are you sure your battery is all right. The way you described your problem sounded exactly like my old car. My old car has been sitting for a year and was doing the same thing. I cleaned the crosion off the battery terminals and it started right up. It would attempt to crank and then start clicking.
