ecu reset

ecu reset

hi, my check engine light has been on, and nothing is wrong with my car, i heard that id you reset the ecu, it can go away, i have a 95 se with manual transmission, does anyone know how to reset the ecu?

1)Turn ignition to 'ON' position (do not start the car)
2)Locate the screw on the ECU
3)Turn the screw clockwise until it stops and hold it for 2 seconds
4)Turn the screw counter-clockwise until it stops
5)Turn the screw clockwise until it stops and hold it for 2 seconds
6)Turn the screw counter-clockwise until it stops

Turn on the car. If the CEL light hasn't gone away, redo the steps above.

Are you sure there is nothing wrong with your car? Did you read the codes?
