I30t Tranny auto in 97 gle maxima?

iv been reading around and learned that most i30t have vlsd tranmission. What i wanted to know is, if that transmission can directly bolt onto my car(97 maxima). i want the automatic i30t tranny. Does anyone have any experience with this? or can anyone inform me or lead me to the right direction? Reason i am looking for this is cuz my tranny might be dying soon, or at least starting too (sometimes slips 4th).. so if i am going to replace the tranny is. why not go for vlsd =).

pz

do a 5spd swap...it'll cost you less than a rebuild, and it's alot more reliable. Not to mention how fast the car will be.

If you do go with the auto, however, it should fit right in, but only with the lsd axles.

i think only the 5-spd i30t's came with vlsd. i'll second the idea of a manual swap anyway though, it would definitely make your car more fun.

I swapped my 5spd for the vlsd 5spd. I had to use the axles out of the I30 vlsd to get it to work.
I am not sure that the auto trans had ls

An auto with a modified VB can actually shift faster than a manual, but it's more a matter of the torque and horsepower lost inside the old slushbox, however, with our cars, it's not really a big issue as there is plenty of low end power to spare. Me, I like an auto in my daily driver, it's just more convenient, banging through gears with a stick is for the weekend car.
