A REALLY annoying noise!!!! Its driving me nuts!! Help!

hey guys, yesterday my radio started acting funny it makes a high pitched noise when the car is moving and not as much when stopped, it just started doing this and i didn't touch the system at all it has been the same way for 4 months and this problem just started. The noise gets higher in pitch as the revs go up, it sounds like a really high whistle and its not a vaccuum leak because the noise is not present when the stereo is off. If anybody could tell me where to begin or just adivice that would be great.

weird! sorry, i'm no help but i just think that it is really weird how your radio could be related to the engine in any way. is it coming from the headunit, or the speakers?

If you are running an after market amp then it may be the ground on the amp or just the quality of the amp. Unfortunatly this problem happens alot with the factory BOSE systems. Each speaker has its own amp built in to the speaker, meaning that there is an amp in each door. When they get some dirt and moisture on the circiut they start makimng ungodly noises. Highpitch squeels, scratchy sounds, intermittent sound, and low end thuds. If it is the factory system the only way to fix it is to replace all 4 speakers and the radio. It's not cheap.

I have the same thing happening after I put in my amp/sub. But I'm fairly sure its my ground (gotta try to find a good one) and I'm putting a noise suppressor on my alt. BTW, does anybody know where a good ground is located in the trunk?

A good ground is any metal part of the vehicle, but if it is pained you should scrape off the paint where the wire is making contact .

thats an easy one to resolve. i come across this one weekly. the diode has gone in your blower resistor pack. behind the glove box you will find the resistor pack facing you with normally a 4 pin spaded multiplug in it. (ive never looked at mine but nissans are normally all the same). there is 2 screws holding it in. remove it, you will see a diode in it. all you have to do is scrape clean both sides of diode & solder a thickish wire link across. replace it & all your speeds will return. its only a 20 min job.

if you need more info then i can take pics from mine & guide you through it.
