Those with Grille-Tech lower grilles

Is this how the grille is supposed to look? It's slanted back, aligned with the little braces that are behind it, and it's sitting back in the bumper, you can barely even see the thing in broad daylight. Other Maximas that I have seen in the org have more pronounced grilles, and from the images, look like they're straight up and down, not slanted like this.

Also, am I supposed to take the rubber guard off that goes all the way around it? Nothing in the instructions said anything about taking it off, and I haven't found any write-ups on installing this, and have searched. Thanks!

Hey, i've had mine on for 2 years now with ZERO rust whatsoever. All it needs is a little TLC.

Clean it every so often, that way it won't rust as fast. If you get tired of it, switch to Street Scenes.

Thanks guys for the reassurance. When I clean it to prevent rust, what's the best way to clean it? I've been just washing it when I wash my car (i use the Mr. Clean car wash stuff), but I dry it off with a towel before the rest of the car dries off. Is there a better way to do it to prevent rust?

The one thing i should have done when I first got the grill was to have my friend spray a clear coat finish. Just so that it nice and shinny after you wash it. And yes wash it with a normal car wash and wipe it dry. Inspect it every so often for nicks from rock and pebbles, because that's how it starts to rust.

clean it with some WD40 carefully, it acts as a solvent as well as an inhibitor :-D

I went through 3 grilles. I live in southern california where it NEVER rains.....explain that. These grilles are a POS . It's a shame that company won't man up to the fecal matter they are selling people.
