CV boot replacement

well, i got a torn outer left CV boot and I'm planning on replacing it this upcoming weekend, anyone ever done this? how much down time am I looking at? what else could I do while I'm at it (to optimize time compsumption)? what special tools would I need aside from the Lift, the wrenches and the pry-bar, I was told i'd need to buy a separate breaker bar to get the wheel/caliper loose, is that true? how much would that cost?

Any help/suggestions apreciated.

-Dexter.

www.motorvate.ca -> has the DIY instructions.

The hub/axle nut may be hard to break loose...

See www.motorvate.ca or 4th Gen How To's post #9. When in doubt read your Haynes manual as well.

Personally, I would just replace the whole axle. It's alot easier and depending on how long your boot has been torn your axle might need replacing anyway. Autozone axle is $ 60.00 and comes with a lifetime warranty.

yeah since you have to take it off anyway, I say replace the axles.

Read the entire guide before starting though, as this is fairly envolved.

just a couple of weeks, and I don't feel anything wrong with it at all but you're right, i'm probably gonna have to unmount the whole thing anywayz. do I need a "breaker bar" or not?
