To summarize: I would recommend cleaning out the EGR port on the back of the upper intake manifold (also called the plenum). This is not an easy job and it maybe worthwhile to have the dealer do the work. Local dealers quoted me around 200 dollars to pull and clean out the EGR passageways.

Cheers.

does this code affect gas mileage? I also have this SOB problem. My local shop told me that the way to fix it is to start replacing from the cheapest part...but that doesnt sound like a bright idea to me.

Well I'll be damned. You're not gonna believe it but there is a link in the HOW TO that shows what to check and how to check it. Your lazy *** should be banned.

i think the only reason i havent been able to remove the code yet is because i have a short or a wire break in the harness pertaining to the soleniod. when hooked up to the consult it shows the soleniods never stays open for more than a split second like its being shorted out
