Installing a new serpentine belt - how hard??

When I start the car my belt sequels so loud it is almost deafening. It goes away if I shut off the climate control for a few minutes but its hot here in Atlanta and I need to run the a/c. It seems to only make the noise at startup. I'm thinking its about time to replace. The Max has 164,xxx on it and this is only the second belt. How hard is it to replace this belt? Where is the best place to get a new belt? Is there a specific type of belt that is better then another?

TIA for your assistance.

its very easy to replace should take a total of 5-10 minutes to replace. loosen the gold tensioner bolt next to the timing chain cover. take off belt, retighten till you can only turn the belt 1/4 inch to each side. start the car and your done

Just loosen the lock nut on the pulley and then tighten the pulley tension with the tensioner facing up. If you do replace the belt, you may as well do the power steering one as well. Same deal except the lock nut is on the tensioner assembly. Will take you about 1-2 hours if this is your first time... otherwise 30 minutes the second time around.

I don't know why the Haynes manual calls for the pivot bolt on the PS pump to be loosened - I did it that way and it took me a little longer since that bolt is hard to reach and break free.

I just replaced both this past weekend.
