Best Alpine Deck 9815, 9835, 9833 ?

I'm going to buy an alpine deck soon and needed some help.

All of these decks basically have the exact same alpine technology. Even the oldest, the 9815. So i guess its kind of between these models. I didn't like Alpine's new 9855, or the 9853 because of the dumb glidetouch. I guess my question is, anyone have personal expirience or can help me compare the too. About the only difference i can see is display features. Out of all of these the 9835 seems to be the most expensive on ebay. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the reply rick,
i do like eclipse, but i don't have the cash to get a eclipse HU at retail price. And i've had good luck with alpine so far.

Go with the Alpine IVA D310. I hear so much about eclipse but I have not seen anything that comes close to the features the iva d310 has. then again I could be wrong I like it for the hook ups video wise but eclipse has great sound i just have to find a spot that sells eclipse stuff

Depends what you are looking for. No Alpine deck has tuning capabilities like the 9815. I liked my 9815 but Id probably take the 9835 because of the screen on it.

all three had bass engine plus at the time. i'm running an iva-d300 basicly the same as d310 other then the detach face and external display uploadable pix. the thing that sucks about both is the sound can't ajust much. must use externall processor (pha-701) to be happy with sound on both. had the d300 as sone as it came out. alpine makes really good screens but normal radios are not that great in my mind. that started doing stupid features because more people cared about dolphins and gay **** like that.

I've read that several people have had issues with the glide touch. I personally think it is another wasted function (they should have spent their time and energy on putting better parts inside that make the HU sound better). I have tried it on several ocassions and always came back with the same impression, it sucks. I would go with the older Alpine if you really want to stick with them, same guts but lower price on Ebay.

I love my 9833. I didn't like the 9835 at all. The screen didn't impress me enough to shell out the extra dough.

yeah the biolite display actually sucks in my opinion. older alpines all the way. when they stopped making the 1.3 din they started to fall apart. been running alpine for about 4 years now.

I had been running Alpine since the days of pullouts .

I actually really liked the display on my 7998, just not enough to make up for the lacking SQ when compared to my older Alpine stuff. My Eclipse 8454 has filled the gap now .

So the biolight display isn't worth it? Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably go with the 9815, older (best w/ alpine), and cheap w/ all the features. Thanks

Humm...
This a good deal?

Yep. Great Eclipse deck. The only thing that sucks is the Eclipse warranty would be void. Some companies overlook internet sales. Eclipse doesn't.
