used two stocker wheels with yokohamas and 23 psi (a friends advise rather than running out and buying slicks), I was trying to find the "sweet" spot for take offs and 60' I think i'm getting the idea but its hard to get between peeling out and hopping on the clutch, hopefully that will work itself out a bit by the time I get more power other than that all I have is a stillen high flow intake and full warpspeed exhaust w/o cat.

A good 60 foot on street tires is a 2.2, 2.1 sometimes. Everytime I go to the track I pull at least one or two 2.1's and I have about 2 weeks of experience in drag racing.

I did 9.73@71 mph in the 1/8 stock [/Giant @sshole]

Seriously though the granny clutch drop (under 2 grand) is what worked best for me. Also put 40 psi in the rear tires and 25 in the front. I cut a 2.12 doing that, but I have bigger nuts under the hood.

yea you do, lol, I left the 18's on the rear and those are at 40psi already and the fronts were my stocker yokahama's with 23, will drop a little more this weekend on the 1'4 mile. also I'm not sure how many miles are on the clutch, if I start at a little less than 2k rpms it "stutters" and doesnt pick up right away, i figured it was the fact that I was na with nothing but intake and exhaust, when you take off do slip the clutch more or try to drop right in?

Don't bother with tire pressures and crap like that, they help you get maybe that extra hundredth or two of a second but you have much bigger fish to fry. I probably made 100 1/4 mile runs before I ever started messing with my tire pressures at all. That sort of stuff is minor and best left for when you are trying to squeeze every ounce out of your setup, not when you are trying to learn how to drive on the track.

I don't really know how to explain how to launch to you, I'd just say maybe find an empty road late at night and practice there some. Even though the traction levels will differ from street to track, the technique of slipping the clutch the proper amount for the available traction is still the same. If slipping the clutch isnt working after a few more times at the track you might forget slipping it and just go with a dump and see how well that works for you.

I see what you mean with the slippage, i got it down to 2.3 with the 18's on the front, all the seats in, a passenger and 3/4 tank of gas, hehe. i'll post my best slips later but I managed 4th place out of about 35 cars in the ET drags at Woodburn OR.
