My 3rd gen finally broke into the 14s...

As Maximan stated in his thread, four of us Maxima drivers hit Woodburn Oregon today for a bit of drag racing. See his post on the details...

I got in seven runs, five of which were in the high 14s. The other two I screwed up my launch, but still put up a 15.1 and a 15.0. At least my car is consistent.

Best time was 14.85 @ 93 mph. On that, my 60-foot time was 2.365. My best 60-foot time on the day came in at 2.357, which is a little better. I am sure I can improve on that.

The last time I went to Woodburn I ran with stock wheels and tires and managed a respectible 15.22. This year I have added an UDP, GReddy exhaust, Centerline wheels with nearly bald Toyo Proxes FZ4 tires and decided to take out the seats for a little weight reduction. I went to a truck scale and with 1/3 tank of gas, my car (no driver) weighed 3000 lbs. It goes in 50 lb increments, so I am somewhere between 2950 and 3050.

Weather was kind of humid and warm, with all runs being in the 70s.

I actually thought I would run a little lower time, but I am not disappointed. I also left the timing stock, where I should have advanced it. My car seems to be running rich and I could really do myself some good with an air/fuel management system, like an SAFC-II.

The car has 151k miles, but I have a JDM engine with unknown mileage. Allegedly, they have 30-60k, but who knows.

RT .166
60' 2.365
330' 6.305
1/8 9.602
mph 74.73
1000' 12.436
1/4 14.850
mph 93.13

After reading Maximan's post, I though I would add that it was fun to have all of these Honda guys wondering how the hell a 13 year old 4 door car put up better times. I went up against a guy with a mid 90s Civic hatch with some kind of an engine swap (he said from a Civic Si), headers, no interior. I ran about .1 faster and afterwards he was asking a lot of questions. hehe.
