breaking sub in, do you have to or is it not true??

breaking sub in, do you have to or is it not true??

I was told that you have to break a subwoofer in, if so, how long does it take to break a sub in, i know you have to turn the bass down, if i'm wrong about this don't flame me because this is just what i was told

I think you got the basic idea. I always break in my subwoofers even though some people will tell you its not needed. It loosens up the suspension and to me always sounds better after a week or two. Just keep the volume into the low-mid for about a week and you should be good.

break in period depends on how stiff the suspension is. a lot of companies put their subs to full tests before shipping out to ensure proper operation when the sub arrives to the customer. it's not really needed, but you can still go easy on them for a few days for a peace of mind.

I have always taken it easy for the first few hrs on all my subs. An argument can be made for both positions.

unless u are runnin something that is disgusting, you don't have any worries go ahead and turn it up. But if you got some sort of SPL system i would say that u might want to keep levels low for a little while but nothing significant. you definetly can argue both sides though. Nothin to sweat about though.

whenever i crank my music up it always cuts out? what could be the source of this problem?
