kicking in the VIAS sooner

has anyone done this. i am looking at a vafc and it says that i can adjust the VIAS opening. just wonder if our motors would benefit from this. not sure if a list of mods would help but i got a WAI, Y-pipe, gutted cat, custom 2.5" b-pipe, and an HKS muffler. i'm getting ready within two weeks to have the tranny rebuilt. spec stage II clutch, motor mounts, and hook up a 100 shot of nitrous. just curious. thanks

Its vacuum controlled by the ECU....pretty much no way to make it activate any earlier short of disconnecting it from the vacuum source and rigging an RPM switch.

I thought the whole point of the VIAS was that it changed at the rev range that would make it most effective. So if you change it to a different rev range you won't really be getting the same effect.

The 4th gen guys can change the mevi changeover point...but most of them use the same changeover as the 00-01vi so i guess nissan got it right.

I think it is 5,200-5,300rpms. some have rigged up the summit RPM switch to have it open a little earlier at 4,900rpms. any lower than that and you will start to lose power.
