B-pipe crimp

I read before that the B-pipe crimp right after the cat is there to tune for torque or to limit power or to optimize for emissions. If it is there to actually increase power, wouldnt it be better to have a nicer crimp? The one we have looks like a retard wacked it with a sledge hammer. But what if it was a nice round smooth airodynamic shape like "velocity stacks" on some cone air filters? Wouldnt that increase exit velocity(I assume such a thing exist) of exhaust gasses?

I think it is there just to limit power... when I had my Cat-Back replaced, my mechanic looked at it... shook his head and said "there is some restriction if I have ever seen it".

Think about it, if it enhanced torque, or had any perfomace gains dont you think every aftermarket exhaust manf. would be all over it???

I am pretty sure it cleared without the crimp...

my budget b pipe w/ resonator felt much better than the stock POS. noticable improvement in power.
