Installed new maf First Impression

Ok, i have installed a New MAF today on my 02 the test drive was right after installation so no ecu reseting, The car did drive better smoother rpms/smooth idle i still have power loss at 40 + i floor the car it hessitates until it hits 4.5k rpms then it starts to go..

Is Ecu resetting going to affect the performance of the newly installed Maf??

ecu recetting wont do anything as far as performance.. after a couple of days.. the ecu will learn the new maf..

about the hesitation thing..thats just the ECU.. we dont have very reactive ecus like the bmw.

OR
it might be early early signs of tranny going out..

2k2s suffer from weak mafs as well. you are going to have to explain the whole ecu is not as responsive as bmw statement. that makes no sense at all. 2k2/2k3s have drive by wire and 2k/2k1 have cable so throttle response is different.

It depends, I mean, sometimes, like people, cars have bad times and good times. It happens. Now, all the time, thats obviously a problem. From like between about 25 and 40, my car doesn't downshift and rides the gear out. People will think my car is slow as sh*t and the times it does downshift, people are like wow, that was fast, what happened from before? Try going WOT from different speeds, 20, 25, 30... in increments of 5. Post how if feels from each.

Got mine from Dave B. within a weeks time and I"m in Canada, hes in Texas and it was shipped by land, so that is some great service. He's on it as soon as your order...I Installed my MAF yesterday, I haven't driven it much at all. Not sure if they reprogrammed eventhough I told em to. But today I will get a true test since the dealer is right by my house. I did however notice a very smooth idle now.
