A/C leak from evaporator drain tube?
A/C leak from evaporator drain tube?
Our '95 SE has a slow leak refrigerant leak, so the last recharge can I put in a can that had the UV dye to help track down the source of the leak. This morning there was a puddle of dye'd water on the floor below the evaporator drain tube. I used a blacklight and looked all around under the hood and and near the firewall and couldn't find any other signs of a leak, however from underneath its clearly dripping out of the evaporator drain tube. And its mixed with the water that normally puddles under it from running the A/C.
Any ideas of what might be leaking inside the evaporator box? Am I looking at needing to replace the evaporator itself, or an o-ring, seal or something else inside it in the A/C plumbing? I was hoping this might be a semi-common problem, but haven't been able to turn up much information in the sticky / faqs, so any help would be great.
Thanks!

Your going to have to replace the leaky evaporator in the HVAC unit in the car. There are no connections inside the unit itself, only the two tubes that stick through the fire wall and those o-ringed connections to the evaporator are in the engine compartment.
Not quite an easy job, good luck with it.

doh, that's sorta what I was afraid of. There is a decent write-up in the Haynes manual for swaping out the heater core, but don't really see much on the A/C evaporator unit. Do you know of anywhere that has a guide or set of instructions? I imagine that the dash has to be pulled the same as for the heater core, but anything specific would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks.
