What my colleague is trying to say is....the filter for your engine is exactly that, for your engine. To the extent of my Maxima knowledge, I don't believe the Maxima has an in dash filter.

However, if you want to get rid of the dust, a swiffer cloth works very well at picking dust up. And if you're super **** about dust, you can use a can of compressed air to get dust out of the tight spaces that a swiffer can't reach.

WTF? How does your air filter have ANYTHING to do with the dust on your dash?
Seriously dude, dust is everywhere, on everything. 10 seconds and a rag does wonders.

heh, technically, if you changed the filter to a new one im assuming, the "dust and junk" should be filtered even better than before, since the old one was dirty.

An intake on the engine is just that. Lets air into the engine. NOT THE CABIN.
The air inlet that lets outside air into the cabin is directly under the windshield wipers. Turn you a\c fan on full and listen.

Regarding the dust our cars dont have an in cabin filter, so travel with some armoral wipes.

IBTL a good idea to keep dust down temporarily is to beat on the seat with something to get the dust to rise out, or to vacuum them. every time you sit down, dust escapes from the seat and land on the dash. just clean the seats and it will keep dust down for a while.

I would clean the carpet, seats, and ceiling real good. make it nice and wet. Also keep one of those anti-static rags handy.
