Drop resistor replaced STILL SHIFTS HARD--Help!

Hi all, I have a 95 MAX SE Auto Trans. Flushed the trans. fluid last week and replaced the drop resistor to remedy the hard shifting and the 1205 trans. error code. Car still shifts hard with no improvement, I am led to believe I need to replace all the shifting solenoids as indicated in the TSB. Has anyone done this before? More important--HAS ANYONE DONE THIS BEFORE AND HAD SUCCESS REMEDYING THE HARD SHIFTS? In other words...did it work? Please let me know, I would greatly appreciate knowing before I order the parts and drop the trans. pan again. Thanks.

Replace the line pressure solenoid.
You might want to talk to a transmission tech to figure out what the problem might be.

i have replaced the shift solenoids to cure the 1205 code, but I've learned the hard way: my solenoids were fine but the dropping resistor was bad.

I've replaced them anyway with the new and " improved " shift kit from Nissan
and the tranny is shifting exactly the same like it did before.

if you feel confident enough to drop the pan and replace them as a preventive maintanance- than go ahead.

4th gen trannies are know to shift hard , mine does it on some days, but most of the time she shifts way to slow and she's always goes into overdrive at 39mph.
but what do you want form auto tranny with 150K on it !!!!!

I just went through the same problem. Car was running fine then all of a sudden from 1st to 2nd the car was shifting hard as hell. busted two motor mounts in the process. But to make a long story short I did everything you've done & was about to change the solenoids too untill i took a closer look at the drop resistor. aparently it was the connector itself. I had a broken wire going into the connector, but to the eye it looked fine until i was feeling the wire itself and actually felt the break in the wire.. I put another end on the wire & plugged it into the drop resistor and im back to normal. let me ask you this....when you start your car, does your O/D light flash about 16 times? if so change that connector along with about 2 to 3 inches of wire. hope it works for ya.
