Apparently only the GXEs without the C&C package have the limiter. GXE w/C&C package, SEs and GLEs all seem to not have them. On the limited cars, it is set somewhere between 112 and 120. The actual top speed(drag limited) of the Maxima is anywhere from 136 to 143.

I noticed that in an older Car and Driver, when the 98/99's came out and they tested them, the top speed was only 112.

mine has one

yes, only the GXE without the comfort and convenience package have limiter... its because of the tires that came on them when they were stock... versus the tires that came on the other models. my limiter is at an indicated 118 mph, i hit it tonight racing my friends GSX. its rather annoying, but then again how often do i really need to go faster than that?

The GLEs don't have a C&C option, everything in that option package is standard.

welp

well , i guess mine isnt limited , i have a 95 gxe ( auto ) and i was doing well over 120 on the highway ( blasting an S4 and M3 i might add ,,,,) i used a lot of gas though, speeding up and slowing down. i dont know if the M3 was pushing it ,,, but towards the end it seemed like he was going real fast , he flew by me when i went to exit. but his car is a lot more expensive and was almost brand new,,, so im rather pleased with that .

I have been well over 120 in my 97 SE and no sign of cut. All thought last night when it was wet I kinda spun up to 7k rpms and it cut off.

The only cars in question are the GXE's. The GLE and SE doesn't have the limiter.

wow...

thats a pretty low limiter, why wouldn't nissan just put the good tires on all the models, and get rid of the limiter all together? my friend has a corolla, 97 i think, and it did 120mph, 112mph for a max is too low, but like someone stated earlier, how many times do you go that fast? btw, how would i be able to tell which gxe is limited, i know how the packages and options work for the 2k+ max's, but what is included in the c&c package on a gxe? and how about the se? here is the max i have my eye on, http://www1.getauto.com/search/car_d...ler_id=AACA%3E
i think with a little dealing, and a trade in (1992 mazda 929), i might be able to get it for 10-11k, does it look good to you guys? do you think this one is limited?

What does the Comfort and Convenience package include?

Does anyone know what exactly is included in it? How can I tell if the car has it by looking at it? thanks,

AFAIK, if your 4th Gen GXE has a power drivers seat, security system and intermittent wipers, then you have the C&C package. Anyone else?

I have a 95 GXE with power seat, intermittent wipers, remote locking, AND A LIMITER.

The ONLY way to know for sure is to go out and try...

limiter

As far as I know, all Maximas have intermittent wipers. My 96 GXE does, but I don't have a power seat nor a security system. I do have a limiter.

Re: limiter

The C&C package comes with VARIABLE INTERMITTENT wipers, which lets you adjust the wipers from 3 seconds to 30 seconds between sweeps. Yeah as far as I know, any GXE with the C&C package does not have the limiter. And all SE/GLEs do not have a limiter.

I've done 115 in my GXE auto (with C&C package), so I don't think it has a limiter, which I'm guessing is at 112 MPH, since the standard GXE S-rated are only good up to 112MPH. All other Maximas come with H-rated tires, good for 130 MPH, and possibly brief stints of 130+.

That's what I have.

What I was trying to say was that I have the C&C package and a limiter...

long story, we need another car in the family, its for my dad, but we cant afford another new car, so he's gonna take the 2k1, and i'm gonna have to buy one, used for sure, the cheaper, the better, so i can have the left over money for mods and stereo equipment. an se would be nice, or gxe with c&c package, gle maybe, if its cheap. my car will be parked outside all the time, and living in oklahoma, i know what heat can do to the interior of a car, so leather is not a good choice for me.

All depends on the tires, SE's & GLE's came with H rated tires so no limiter. Plain Jane GXE's come with lower speed rated tires (S?) needing a limited top speed.
